Start with the care label on your garment. Its instructions take priority because fabrics, trims and decoration methods can need different care.
Gentle everyday washing
For many performance garments, a cold gentle wash with similar colours is a good starting point. Turn the item inside out and avoid bleach. Use fabric softener only if the care instructions allow it, as it can affect the performance of some technical fabrics.
Drying and heat
Air drying is usually the gentler option. Use a tumble dryer only when the label permits it and follow the stated heat setting. Avoid direct high heat on printed areas and synthetic fabrics.
For embroidery, handle the decorated area gently and avoid ironing directly over it. Follow the garment's ironing instructions if ironing is permitted.
Keep the design looking its best
Sublimation colours are incorporated into suitable fabric rather than forming a raised transfer layer. Good care still matters: abrasion, strong chemicals and excessive heat can affect both the fabric and its appearance over time.
